On Flag Day of 2016, West Sound Workforce — a full-service staffing and recruiting firm — was honored at the YesVets Recognition Ceremony for its commitment to hiring veterans.
The ceremony was held on the Capitol Campus at the Winged Victory Monument. Many businesses, agencies, and other organizations who hire veterans were also honored at the ceremony — but West Sound Workforce is the first company in Kitsap County to be recognized for its hiring of veterans through the YesVets Program.
West Sound Workforce received additional accolades for its patriotic hiring practices at the Boot2Work Job Fair in June.
YesVets is a program in partnership with Employment Security, Washington Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Commerce, Washington State Military Transition Council and chambers of commerce across the state. The statewide YesVets campaign spotlights companies that dedicate themselves to hiring veterans.
West Sound Workforce is deeply committed to hiring veterans and military spouses.
“It’s simply good business to take care of the people who have dedicated themselves to protecting our country,” said Julie Tappero, CEO and President of West Sound Workforce. “These men and women come to the workplace with excellent skills and character, and we’re thrilled to help them put their talents to work in the private sector.”
