Whether you’re transitioning out of the military, retiring, or supporting your family as a military spouse or dependent, West Sound Workforce is here to help. We work closely with employers and the local military community to make veteran transitions into the civilian workforce smoother and more successful.

 

Our team participates in the state-wide YesVets program, which encourages employers to hire veterans, and we are active members of Vet Tribe—a network of veterans, military spouses, and community members supporting military families in Kitsap and Pierce Counties.

Since its launch in 2016, West Sound Workforce has proudly participated in Washington State’s YesVets program, which expands employment opportunities for veterans. Twice we’ve been honored at the state-wide “Hire-A-Vet” Award Ceremony, most recently for our efforts in employing not only veterans but also their spouses and dependents.

Welcome Home Program and Second Chance Employment:

West Sound Workforce has a history of supporting second chance employment, including past partnerships with programs like the Welcome Home Program, which assisted individuals returning to the community within Kitsap County. While the program has concluded, our commitment continues: we help individuals with justice involvement overcome barriers and connect with meaningful employment that fits their skills and passions.

Diversity Program Involvement

Over the years, we’ve partnered with organizations such as the Kitsap Supported Employment Business Advisory Committee, which supported individuals with disabilities and other employment barriers. Although that committee is no longer active, we remain dedicated to inclusive hiring practices, collaborating with local organizations and employers to create opportunities for job seekers from all backgrounds.
