Available For:
I am available for Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire positions.
Ideal Position:
My ideal position is one that will utilize my accounting and bookkeeping skills while allowing both personal and professional growth. I prefer a position that includes a core set of daily responsibilities with periodic additional tasks or special projects. Most important to me is to work for a company that strives to create a corporate culture that reflects the value it places on its employees.
Past Experience:
Almost all of my work experience has been in a professional office setting. By capitalizing on my love of numbers, I was able to turn a clerical order processing position to one that included A/R cash receipt posting and collections while I was still pursuing my Bachelor’s degree.
After graduating college, I spent a couple years as a fund accountant at an investment bank. Full time for the first 21 months, I performed all daily and monthly accounting functions for a variety of mutual funds. During my last year I worked part time and concentrated on preparing some of the more challenging asset reconciliations, monthly audit packages, and daily bank reconciliations.
During a hiatus from the workplace, I accepted the Treasurer position on the board of a local organization. I was recently elected into a second two year term on the board. Most recently I worked as a fiduciary specialist for a reinsurance brokerage where my primary job responsibilities included A/R cash receipt posting, collections, and collateral management.
Currently:
I pride myself on being someone who not only loves learning, but is able to very quickly learn new processes, procedures, and software.
During my career I have repeatedly proven my ability to quickly get up to speed on new software and to grasp new concepts. I have, at various times, used this love of learning to be entrusted with special projects, earn the respect of “difficult” clients, and become an expert on specialized processes within my team. My enjoyment of challenging myself led to my taking, and passing, the CPA exam in 1999.
